There is no specific topic to apply to this grant. Nevertheless, we encourage the applicants to focus their research on life histories of marine, diadromous and freshwater fish in the Indian Ocean. Thus, the applicants could submit their abstract to one of the 42 IPFC sessions (, but with a preference for two sessions: “Larval recruitment in marine and freshwater fishes: Current issues and future directions” (session C8) and “Diadromous fish and leptocephali of the Indo Pacific: biogeography, ecology and conservation” (session E1).

Who should apply
The grant is 2 500 euros. The applicants should be less than 35 year old. All staff (researchers, lecturers, post-doctorates, doctorates) of Universities, Environmental/Fisheries department, and NGOs from Indian Ocean Islands.
